Nakapelimen FC confident of frustrating UPL side Soltilo in the round of 64 Uganda Cup fixture, Moroto

Stanbic Uganda Cup first ever match on Karamoja soil is full of expectations from the home based side Nakapelimen FC who is hoping to pull a shocker by progressing through to the round of 32.

The match which is scheduled for tomorrow Saturday, 4th February,2023 4pm at Naitakwae sports complex has seen the home side which is the only non league team in the cup train in camp for over 3 weeks.

According to the head coach Logit Ben Popularly known as Coach Ben, the team has not reached the round of 64 by chance but through hard work and commitment.

He added that the team is focused to go as far as the finals noting that to win the trophy a team has to better the big teams like Soltilo Bright Stars which is their immediate task.

Team captain Chacha Victor appluaded Stanbic bank for the support rendered to the tournament adding that the team members are set and ready for the task ahead.

He said football is a game of 90 minutes where both teams have to work hard to collect the results and it can not be pre-determined through statistics or a team’s status.

Chacha said all players are in their rightful mindsets and will give their best to help the team head into the round of 32 of the cup.

Stanbic Uganda Cup has for the first time seen a total of 63 teams qualify from below the top two elite leagues in the country (Uganda Premier League and Fufa Big League) and Karamoja for the first time since the inauguration of the cup coming on board.
